Flowing Tunic

Flowing Tunic

This tunic pattern is another one I’ve had sitting around in a folder for about a year. After finishing my leather skirt around 4:30 Sunday morning (which I’ll detail more in a later post), I knew I needed something to wear with it to work today. I had spent a few nights last week putting this pattern together, so I figured I’d give it a go. I had hoped it would show more of my skirt, but I still love it.

Tunic

When I’ve made tunics in the past, they’ve always been a bit short. A tunic is supposed to cover the bootie my friends…at least in my opinion. This pattern is the perfect length for a tunic, just not necessarily for this outfit. This Lekala No. 5571 would be awesome with leggings and boots or any kind of knee length pencil skirt. I made it in a silky fabric and the drape was fantastic. I didn’t get the best pictures tonight because I was in a hurry, but the sides angle out into large vents. The sleeves also split on either side from the elbow to the writs. Washing your hands can be a bit tricky, but it’s totally worth it for the look. ๐Ÿ™‚

Naturally, I will be celebrating this achievement with wine…just not tonight. ๐Ÿ™‚
