View B of See and Sew B6366 has to be my favorite shirt I have ever made. There are very few things about this that I do not like. The pattern itself has very few pieces. I cut it on a Monday night and sewed it up the next day. It did take a little longer than I expected, but it was totally worth taking my time.
The first thing I noticed while cutting was the directions were not clear. I like to lay them out and read as I cut the pieces. The collar particularly needs some clarification. The cutting itself didn’t take that long, but I chose to cut it one day and then sew it then next. I love the knit fabric, so I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time to sew carefully. Sometimes I can be a little careless when I’m anxious to finish something. 🙂
One thing I wish I would have done was measure the width of the shoulders. They are a little wide, so when I wear the shirt, they hang off my shoulders a bit. I suppose I’m probably the only one who notices it, but on the next one, I’ll definitely clean that up.
As I mentioned earlier, the collar could have used some clarification. When I assembled the garment, I actually put the collar in the wrong way. The serged seam should be on the inside, where mine is on the outside. You can’t see it normally because of the size of the collar, but on the occasion that it slips up, you can see the seam.
Other than that, I love this shirt. It’s perfect to wear with leggings. I prefer shirts that are longer than normal when I wear them with leggings, and this really fits the bill. The hemline falls just below the thigh, so for us fluffy girls, it’s awesome. The collar really makes it unique. I get so many compliments.
All and all, See and Sew B6366 is a great shirt. Perfect for the office, but also casual. I have also made View A, which I’ll show in a later post. My fabric is from my absolute fave in online fabric shopping, Fabric.com.. The pattern was an impulse buy at Joann Fabrics. I just happened to be walking by and grabbed it.
