From Frightening to Functional in Five Days

I decided to move my sewing area up here because I didn’t like being in the basement sewing when the munchkin was sleeping. So, I began wading through my sea of bags that was still in there from moving. And when I say “my” I mean some of mine and many of hers. I filled two more very large space saver bags with stuffed animals and hauled that to the attic. After that, I pretty much threw away everything. If I haven’t looked at it since October, then I probably don’t need it. I used the shelves and a lamp that my dad got for me. I made some curtains out of Dollar Store bed sheets I had laying around and used fabric scraps as tie backs. I found a lamp shade for $5.00 that matched the tie backs. I picked up the perfect size folding table at Lowes and ordered an over-the door ironing board so I could sew and press in the same area instead of running to the basement. (I’ll talk more about my new fabulous iron in another post.) I hauled my bookcase with all my fabric in it from the basement, a few other odds and ends, and I was done! Since the pictures, I added a fuzzy rug under the table to cut down on noise from the hardwood floors. I also bought a serger, which I’ll talk about more later as well. So here it is….my new sewing area. Everything was done in five days. Not bad at all πŸ™‚ There are a few before pictures after too. I’d like to put them first, but unfortunately Bloglovin pulls the first one, so I want it to be a good one πŸ™‚
